How it works
Three steps, and the money only ever moves against a line item somebody can point at.
Fund the gap
Backers chip in on the line items they care about. The plan is keep-what-you-raise, so partial funding still buys the next real step instead of expiring.
Watch it finish
The build runs in public through an update thread. Backers get an email at every step, including the steps that go badly, until it is done.
What this is, and what it is not
The site is called a fund, so it should be blunt about which kind it is before anyone types an email in.
What Homestretch is
- A marketplace where creators raise money to finish a specific, named project.
- An itemized ask: you can see what each dollar is meant to buy before you give it.
- A public record of how the work went, kept up by the creator after the money lands.
What Homestretch is not
- Not an investment. Backing a project buys no equity, no shares, no interest and no financial return, and nothing here is investment advice.
- Not a loan to the creator, and not a charitable donation: contributions are not tax deductible.
- Not open yet. No project is live, nothing on this site takes a payment, and no payment details are collected here.

When does it open?
There is no date to promise yet, and we would rather open late than open half-built. The waitlist is how you hear first.
What will it cost to use?
Pricing is not set. When it is, the numbers will be published plainly, before anyone is asked to pay anything.
What if a project does not raise the whole amount?
The intended model is keep-what-you-raise: the creator keeps what came in and reports what it covered. The binding rules will be in the terms before launch.
Who is behind this?

What happens to my email address?
It is stored to tell you when Homestretch opens, and for nothing else. No cookies and no advertising trackers run on this page: our host counts page views with a cookieless script that never sees your address. Ask and the address is deleted.

Not yet, but say hello and describe it. Early projects shape what gets built first.
